CHOOSE AN AREA

The River Deveron falls into three natural sections:

Upper - Excellent brown trout sport from March onwards. Spectacular scenery in one of Scotland's unspoilt glens. Fast running rocky pools will challenge even the most experienced of fishermen.

Middle - Superb variety of water in a beautiful strath which offers every form of fishing to suit all abilities. All species caught in prolific numbers throughout the season.

Lower - Within lowlying farmland and mature broad-leaved woodlands, experience good fly fishing in lower water conditions where spinning is allowed on some beats.

For information on available fishing, please contact the beats direct.

For further information on other matters, please contact the Trust.

WHEN TO FISH
The river opens on the 11th February and closes on 31st October. There is always a chance of Spring fish. Sea trout start from mid-May through to July. The grilse runs start in June and July and extend well into September and often into October. Excellent dry fly fishing for Brown Trout is available in April and May. It is a river of big fish and each season brings in some fish in the 20-30lb class.
