The Fishing
This is the beat where the "big fish" (61 lbs) was caught by Mrs Tiny Morison, still Britain's biggest ever fly caught salmon.
This is a 4 rod beat and a rotation system is in operation where four rods are split and switched over at 1pm daily if all rods are taken by one group.
Suitable for wading and bank fishing.
Worming is ONLY allowed when the water is in spate or semi-spate- and certainly not before 1st June.
Before October spinning is NOT allowed during the period from 1 hour after sunset to 1 hour before sunrise, nor in anything other than high water or deep pools (after 1st October, spinning is also not allowed unless in spate).
The Fish
February, March, April and May are let on signifcantly reduced charges (see below)for spring salmon: June, July and August are best for sea trout and grilse.
Summer salmon run from mid July and they are exceptional during September and October.
Brown trout during early season and in the evening during the summer.
