The lower beats can be covered with a 13'-15' double-handed rod and an 11' rod for the sea trout in the summer, whilst the middle beats can be covered successfully with an 11' single handed rod except in high water when we would recommend a double handed rod of at least 13'. The upper beats need only a 9' rod. Thigh waders are sufficient for the summer months but chest waders are would be useful in the spring and autumn on most lower/middle beats.

We ask anglers who use rappalas and flying C's to remove all hooks bar one to reduce damage and increase the chance of returning fish unharmed.

If unsure we would recommend obtaining local expert advice from Frank Henderson of Turriff Tackle - tel: 01888 562428
